Freeze fresh summer strawberries
for a burst of sunshine in the
winter months.

strawberry smoothies

The Ingredients

the strawberry citrus smoothie

250 mL fresh or frozen strawberries 1 cup
250 mL Western Family orange juice 1 cup
125 mL silken or soft tofu 1/2 cup
125 mL Western Family low-fat plain yogurt 1/2 cup
1 banana

the strawberry vanilla smoothie

375 mL fresh or frozen strawberries 1 1/2 cup
125 mL Western Family strawberry yogurt 1/2 cup
125 mL skim milk or soymilk 1/2 cup
30 mL Western Family flaxseeds, ground 2 tbsp
2 mL Western Family vanilla 1/4 tsp
3 mL Western Naturals organic honey 1/2 tsp

The Method

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately. For an icier drink, add 3 to 4 ice cubes.
