Although it provides no calories, water is as important to good health and energy as the food you eat. Ensure you stay well hydrated with at least 6 to 8 cups of water a day.

Mulled Cider Kit

 

 

125 mL crushed pieces of cinnamon sticks ½ cup
125 mL dried cranberries ½ cup
125 mL chopped dried orange peel ½ cup
60 mL whole allspice berries 4 tbsp
60 mL whole cloves 4 tbsp

1. Chop orange peel roughly. Spread on a paper towel and cover with more towel. Let stand overnight.

2. Combine all ingredients into a mixture. Tie with pretty ribbon in a cheesecloth bag. Several bags can be wrapped together for multiple uses later on. Attach a small card with the following directions:

  • Instructions: Add half this Mulled Cider Mix to 500 mL (2 cups) apple juice and 500 mL (2 cups) cranberry juice or to 1 L (4 cups) cranapple juice. Simmer 20 minutes.
  • Or add half this mix to 750 mL (3 cups) dry red wine, 250 mL (1 cup) cranberry juice and 30 mL (2 tbsp) liquid honey. Simmer 20 minutes

Gift Ideas: Attach this mulled cider mix to a bottle of wine; fill a coffee mug with mulled cider mix and decorate with cellophane and ribbon; or fill a basket with wine, Western Family 100% cranberry juice blends, variety of herbal teas and selection of cookies.
